- Name of the society: - "Academic Society of Pharmacologist of Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences".
- Short form of the society is ASPIGIMS. But this society is also known as ASPI.
- Registered Office: - Department of Pharmacology, Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Sheikhpura, Patna-800014, Bihar, India. The Registered office may be changed at any time by the Society, and it will be intimated to I.G. Registration, Bihar within 15 days of such change.
- Area of operation: - The area of operation will be all over India.
Aims & Objectives
The aims and objectives for which ASPIGIMS is established are as under:
- To promote departmental (Department of Pharmacology, IGIMS, Patna) advancement, research, education and training in clinical pharmacology research, pre-clinical studies and allied subjects.
- To collaborate and cooperate with other organizations of similar interest, nationally as well internationally.
- To foster and disseminate the departmental drug research science, its rational use and advancement.
- To develop and suggest contemporary changes in curriculum and syllabus for Medical Undergraduate and Postgraduate in the department.
- To provide financial support (on the requirement basis and availability of fund) and expertise for conducting and monitoring clinical trials, pre-clinical studies and associated research in the Pharmacology Department.
- To foster the culture of Pharmacovigilance, Materiovigilance and Hemovigilance etc. in the department/ institute.
- To disseminate and publicize safe use of drugs/medicines.
- We will spend fund arranged by the society.
- To organize free medical camp for giving medical advice on adverse drug reaction and adverse event following immunization to public.
- To organize educational and training program for improving knowledge attitude and awareness to healthcare professionals and nursing staff about detection reporting and prevention of adverse drug reaction and adverse event following immunization to public.
- To publish and distribute scientific literature on Pharmacovigilance, Vaccinevigilance and Materiovigilance.
- To encourage and support research works that have potentials to benefit people.
